About Mastoran

Founded in 1985 with Burger King restaurants in Waltham and Stoneham, Massachusetts, Mastoran Corporation has grown through new restaurant development and by acquisition and now employs 1,000 people at 38 Burger King restaurants across Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

With its own construction and facilities management team, backed by decades of operational expertise, Mastoran pursues new franchise and commercial development opportunities across New England.

Mastoran was established by the husband-and-wife team of Larry and Paige Kohler. The company is now led by their son Brek Kohler who joined the family business in 2003 after earning a BS from Wake Forest University and working for several years as a financial analyst for Bank of America.

Over the past 20 years, Brek has worked at every level of the company and now serves as its president. Mastoran’s senior leadership team includes Deborah Nolan, vice president and chief financial officer, and Marc Rochon, director of construction and facilities management.

Before Mastoran, Larry was the executive vice president of restaurant operations and new concept development for Burger King Corporation. In those roles, he was responsible for corporate wide quality assurance, product research & development, and other vital operations. Larry is a veteran of the U.S. Army and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service as an infantry sergeant in Vietnam.
